Music is a complex activity. But we do not need to make it more complicated. Music is a game, through singing, clapping, listening and discussing, we could learn music with ease. Nurturing interests and building a solid foundation are our utmost missions to all music lovers and children.
Charmaine Tan
Charmaine graduated with the Bachelor of Music with Honours and Master of Music in Vocal Performance with a Scholarship from Mannes School of Music in New York City under the tutelage of Arthur Levy, and Anthony Manoli. She obtained an ABRSM grade 8 in piano and she has had 6 years of violin studies and 4 years of flute studies. She provides voice lessons in Singapore and has prepared and guided students to obtain Distinctions and Merits in ABRSM, London College of Music and Trinity College London music examinations in Singapore and secure spots in the School of the Arts and summer music festivals.

Charmaine won the “Most Expressive Award” in the Forte International Competition at The Carnegie Hall. She performed the title role of “Grittly” in Offenbach’s Le 66 and in Opera Scenes playing the role of “Violetta” in La Traviata, “Amor” in Orfeo ed Euridice, “Sophie” in Der Rosenkavalier, and “1st Lady” in Die Zauberflöte, among others, and has given recitals in both Singapore and New York City.
Charmaine had the honour of being invited to perform the Singapore National Anthem and the America National Anthem at the Singapore Embassy in Washington D.C. for the “SG50 celebration” and the “SG50 and SAF celebration”. She also participated as a member of the Manhattan Girls Chorus at the “Women in the World Summit” where she performed for celebrities including Barbara Streisand, Helen Mirren and Hilary Rodham Clinton.
Upon her return to Singapore, Charmaine became a member of the Spot Pocket Opera Theatre (SPOT) in the beginning of 2016, a company dedicated to promote the music scene in Singapore. She also premiered the Rotary Song for the Rotary Club of Singapore. Charmaine is the co-founder of Vocal Coach Asia, a service that brings vocal coaches from around the world to provide aspiring musicians in Singapore the opportunity to have coaching, workshops and masterclasses with them.
