ABOUT GOPC 2025
Entering its third year, the Grand Opus Performing Competition is expanding to include Piano, Violin, and Cello. GOPC has the Solo preliminary rounds in several countries such as China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia.
The 2025 competition promises to be thrilling and high-quality, with participants from all over Asia and the world.
The major attraction of GOPC is its grand-scale finals, featuring 2 orchestras and 4 conductors, with over 80 professional musicians performing alongside the contestants on stage. Participants will have a breakthrough with the rare opportunity to play with a high-quality orchestra, coupled with the experience of performing on stage, as well as having their performances filmed by a team of professional technicians.
With the supports of leading experts in music, Impressivo Klaviere & Flugel is honored to accompany sponsors, educational partners, and media to bring about an international-level competition.
In Vietnam, participants competing in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City will have the chance to meet and learn from experienced educators and renowned piano, violin, and cello artists from both domestic and international backgrounds, fulfilling roles as artistic advisors and jury members.
International contestants will also have the opportunity to meet judges from all over Asia when registering to compete in their home countries.
Groups
For Piano: There are both AMATEUR and PROFESSIONAL groups.
For Violin & Cello: only PROFESSSIONAL group. This means any amateur players who can play the instrument up to a certain standard can join.

Rules and Regulation
- Piano Amateur group participants must not studied at any professional music schools/colleges/ universities/conservatoires.
- The Professional Group participants must studying music at professional music schools/colleges/ universities/conservatoires; or
- competitors with music graded certificates Grade 6-8 of ABRSM, LCM , AMEB, Trinity or competitors who can conquer classical piano compositions.
- Finalist may not participate in more than one age category.
- Finalist can participate in a group that is superior to their age (for example, a 9-year-old finalist can join Group D for 16-18 year olds). But cannot take part in the group that is lower than his or her age (for example, a 16-year-old finalist cannot participate in Group B for 9-11-year-old finalist).
Repertoire and Program
- Finalist can play from memory or preform with scores in the competition
- Finalist in Piano Amateur group can preform any piano compositions, from Classical to Pop Covers, or piano arrangements, whichare not limited to Classical piano compositions.
- Finalist in the Professional group only can perform classical or arranged piano works, from the pre-Baroque to the post-romantic and modern eras. Do not play Pop or Easy-listening music or movie soundtracks.
Video Requirements – the Online Round
- Each competitor only uploads 1 video, continuously recording all pieces for the Online Round.
- The video must be shot at a fixed angle.
- The angle of the shot should show the competitor’s entire body, most importantly both hands, pedals, and facial expressions.
- The video must not be cut and edited with any sound or visual effects. Violations may result in the competitor being disqualified from the competition.
- The video must be uploaded to YouTube, set to “unlisted” and submit the link at the registration form or email with your Full Name and respective Category code.
- Grand Opus Performing Competition reserves the right to store, produce, and broadcast the competitors’ photos, videos, and other information related to the competition, without paying royalty fee. Grand Opus Performing Competition owns all material produced in the competition.
Registration Deadline for each Round:
- Online Round: registration closes after 23:59 (GMT+7) on 10/06/2025
- Register to study with an Advisor in the Public Masterclass: before 23:59 (GMT+7) on 15/06/2025
- Orchestra Final: registration closes after 23:59 (GMT+7) on 20/06/2025
- Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
- The organisers reserve the right to disqualify competitors who register later than the competition’s registration deadline.
Prizes and Certificates
- All Finals prizes and certificates will be awarded directly to the competitors at the Gala Concert.
- If the competitor cannot receive the award and certificate in person, please contact the admin team to receive it by post.
The Jury
- The Jury’s decision is final and unappealable.
- Each competitor is judged by 3 juries in Finals, and each jury will mark independently, providing their own scorecards and comments sheets, based on a 100-point scale.
Information, Private and Confidentiality
- Personal information collected from the application will be shared with the juries and members of the admin team in accordance with the following regulations. When registering for the competition, the competitor and the parents/guardians must accept these guidelines.
- To the juries, only the following information about the competitor will be shared: Full name, age, category, repertoire.
- To the admin team, in order to operate the competition as well as inform related issues conveniently to the competitors and parents, the following information about the competitor is shared: Full name, age, category, repertoire, contact information, scorecards and the judge’s feedbacks after each Round.
- Results of each round will be announced on the Grand Opus Performing Competition website and social media. A detailed feedback sheet including scores and comments is sent to each competitor individually.
- The final results of the competition as well as the names and photos of the winners will be announced on the Grand Opus Performing Competition’s websites and social networks. Noticeably, the media such as newspapers and magazines may also publish information about the results.
- By submitting the registration form, the competitor/parent/guardian confirms that he or she has read, understood and agreed to the terms and conditions mentioned in the Grand Opus Performing Competition. If the competitor does not comply with the competition terms and conditions, Grand Opus Performing Competition reserves the right to cancel their application without refund.
Disclaimer
Participants must be accompanied by their parents/guardians for the entire participation in the competition.
Parents/guardians are solely responsible for the safety of minors during competition and all related events.

Grand Opus Piano Competition is not responsible for any damage or loss of personal property. Participants and parents are responsible for their own belongings.

Certificates
All Finals prizes and certificates will be awarded directly to the competitors at the Gala Concert.
Medals
Medals will be given to top 3 winners of each categories in the orchestral final.
Recordings
The most promising competitors will be invited to make videos and produce a full professional album. All competitors can request their own performance to be recorded (fee applies).
Cash Prizes
(To be announced) Awarded to all winners of the orchestral final.
Gift Vouchers
From sponsors and supporters, with the total value up to $10,000.
